The Blue Moon Hotel’s recent update provides visitors with a luxurious getaway, with each suite offering a range of high-end amenities and designed to incorporate the beautiful historical architecture of the building into every room.

Purchased in 2001 by Settenbrino, the building in which the hotel is located is a tenement built in 1879 by Julius Boekel, famed for NYC’s first German Baptist Church.

The owner-merchants of the 100 Orchard Street Tenement valued their shops more than their tenants, and thus the upper apartments were boarded up since the 1930s, impressive amounts of period artifacts were left behind by the tenants. As such, Settenbrino and his team were able to salvage a wide assortment of beautiful period pieces from within the property, including fixtures and artifacts that have been painstakingly removed, restored, relocated, and reused to create a feeling of the jazz era and historical accuracy throughout the unique hotel.

Each suite is generously sized for a comfortable and relaxing stay, with rooms ranging from couple to family. Free Wi-Fi is available in every room and throughout the hotel, and the rooms also include large-screen TV sets with a selection of premium channels and access to Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube.

For guests who enjoy waking up with a delicious coffee and breakfast, Blue Moon Hotel has added a Keurig coffee maker and ample tea and coffee to every suite – as well as a kitchenette with a cooktop, cutlery, utensils, crockery, and cooking equipment. Suites also include a mini refrigerator, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and a range of toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and make-up removal wipes.

“This hotel is situated in the most vibrant and historic part of the city just across from the Tenement Museum,” said one satisfied guest. “Every room is almost the size of a studio apartment and some of a one-bedroom. Each unit is independent with a small kitchenette and is beautifully designed. The staff is friendly. If you really want to have a unique experience of NYC and really feel the city at its best, I recommend The Blue Moon Hotel.”
